extended ARTIST BIO

FERNANDA is an emerging independent artist with vivid vision and a powerful voice. Weaving elements of folk, rock, and blues into a mystic realm inspired by European roots and vintage psychedelia, her shapeshifting voice carries ancestral echoes into the present. Her vocal style and stage presence are influenced by the emotional depth and expressive power of Stevie Nicks, Nancy Sinatra, Joan Baez, and Amália Rodrigues.

Her songwriting and performance balances prayerful intentionality with intuitive exploration, demonstrating her craft as an artist devoted to the path of storytelling and self-expression. Driven by strong acoustic rhythms, psychedelic and blues guitar textures, vocals that ache with emotion, and story-centered songwriting that explores themes of mysticism, ancestry, self-discovery, and transformation, she has been compared to contemporary artists such as Florence Welch, Vashti Bunyan, PJ Harvey, Angel Olsen, and Ora Cogan.

FERNANDA's debut demo-tape inspired concept record ‘Deer Trails: A Mystic Folk Tale’ (2025) follows the symbolic journey of a pilgrim through earth, sky, and inner wilderness, reflecting her own evolution as an independent artist navigating purpose, identity, and creative devotion.

She has captivated audiences on Manitoba festival stages including Harvest Moon Festival, Whoop & Holler Folk Festival, and the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. Expanding her reach beyond Manitoba, she has travelled to Toronto to record her debut album and perform live at DROM Taberna. Her work has been featured on CBC Manitoba Morning Radio, UMFM Campus Radio, and she was shortlisted for the 2026 Show Your Roots Folk Conference in Belfast, Ireland. With ambitions to tour nationally and internationally, FERNANDA is building a body of work rooted in revolutionized tradition, expressive curiosity, and artistic integrity.

With a growing audience in her hometown Winnipeg, she continues to carve out a unique artistic path and distinct voice in Canada’s contemporary folk landscape. Journeying onwards with grace, growl, and bite— FERNANDA leaves audiences aching for more.
